List of entries )

Please Note: Because we only have 4 entries this week, there is only a First Place and Runner Up to vote for!

In order to vote, please reply to this post using the form provided. All comments are screened, and entries are listed in the order they were submitted. For your vote to qualify, you must fill out your entire voting card (both spots) in order to be counted. Winner votes are worth 2 points, Runner Up votes are worth 1 point. Meeting the bonus goal on an entry gets an extra point for that submission.

When voting, please copy/paste the ENTRY NUMBER and the FIC TITLE from the list above into the spot you're voting for (this prevents accidentally mis-numbering a vote and casting it for the wrong entry). It should look like this:

First Place: 61. Fic Title Here
Runner Up: 88. Another Fic Title

Please note that you cannot vote for your own entry, and that votes cannot be made anonymously. You do not have to be a member of the community in order to vote, nor have submitted an entry for this week; everyone is welcome to participate in the voting. IP addresses are logged to prevent duplicate voting.

Voting closes Wednesday, June 11, at 9:00PM EST.

Re-reading my own fic to get myself in a good writing headspace, and you know, Sonata may have taken more time/effort/plotting and gets more attention for good reasons, but until I bring you home absolutely slaps. I wrote it in something like six days on an average of five hours of sleep a night, and it still might be the best emotional arc I've ever written.

(I really need to learn enough photoshop to make a Klavdar icon.)

Three hundred and eighty-five unread emails. I'm never taking a two-week vacation again.

Me, prepping to go back to work: I didn't accomplish anything with my two weeks off. What even was the point of that :(

Hey. Hey brain? WE HAD TWO ORGANS REMOVED. That was the point of the two weeks off!!!

I might be bad at taking vacations.

[#261 | Schemes] Challenge Post

Challenge 261:
SCHEMES
Whether it’s planning a secret party, going on a forbidden quest, or overthrowing the government, there’s one thing you need to make it happen: a good scheme.

An evil scheme, or just a scheme? Well, that’s up to the schemers in question; it’s certainly possible to scheme without malicious intent, though most people would call it a “plan” instead. But anybody can make a scheme. Whether or not they can carry it out...well, that’s a different question.

What do your characters scheme about?

Write a story about schemes.

BONUS GOAL: “What could possibly go wrong?”

If your submission features this line, it will earn an extra point to be tallied in voting!

Challenge ends Monday, June 9 at 9:00PM EST.

I have given myself a problem. I need to take a break from Sonata so I can relax and come at it with fresh eyes tomorrow to finish up this chapter edit...but instead I'm sitting here going "just one more sentence? just one?" like I'm reading a really interesting book.

Come on, brain, we need dinner. If you really want to write that bad, we have other projects!

Fandom: Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney
Characters: Klavier Gavin/Apollo Justice, Klavier Gavin/Daryan Crescend, Ema Skye, Miles Edgeworth
Rating: Teen
Warnings: Canon-typical violence, murder mystery, language
Notes: Title is from VOILA's "No Lullaby", also off the Daryan playlist.
Special thanks to [personal profile] crabkick for the midnight emergency beta (and the bookstore coffee shop for the extra caffeine) after I decided to rewrite a whole scene in this chapter at 5pm on Friday. I think it turned out pretty good.

I went on a nice walk before dinner to give myself a break from the computer, hoping to revive my energy for Sonata editing...and put on the wrong playlist and came back with an intense desire to work on the Klavdar Pacific Rim AU. So that's fun.

I have no idea if I'll ever post that fic, because I have no idea how it ends, so instead, here's a little bitty prompt fill I wrote for it forever ago when I first got the idea.

Managed to get Parts 1/2/5 of the PWKM catalogued on the spreadsheet! Tonight I think I'll take a shot at getting part 3a finished since parts 3/4 are both partial, and then I'm thinking maybe I'll skip to more recent parts and work my way backward for a bit.

But for now...Sonata editing. Check back in an hour to see if I managed to do at least the Daryan section.

Apparently my power is out, so I will be staying at the bookstore for the rest of the evening or until it comes back on. I'm not exactly getting anything written, but I also don't want to turn off the computer, so...here I am!

I really need to buckle down and work on Sonata, but I'm not feeling the kind of subtle editing that this chapter needs right now (some rough stuff going on IRL that's making it hard to focus). So instead I'm writing Klavdarpollo accidental kitten acquisition, working on the PWKM spreadsheet, and playing around with an Ace Attorney/Texts From Last Night Tumblr blog.

(Apparently my mental solution to "I'm nostalgic for 2011" is to just...do the stuff I was too shy to do in 2011, LOL.)
